For Catholic communities in Mexico and around the world, a church is a place of prayer, a visible symbol of faith and a focal point for the community. It is where the people come together to celebrate Mass, worship God, learn about the Faith and pray before the Blessed Sacrament.
In some of the ejidos of General Cepeda, MX, where resources are not available, people have to gather together inside houses, sheds, or even simply outside in the dirt.
The Rebuild My Church Project is an attempt to bring aid to poor communities of the Saltillo Diocese who have nowhere to gather their community.
With your help we will complete chapels in villages like Cuchilla del Indio where the local people have begun laying the foundations of a chapel where they can praise and worship the Lord together on Sundays and celebrate Mass once a month when the priest comes.
Isn’t a chapel expensive? How can I help?
The average cost for building a chapel in the General Cepeda Municipal is $2,500.00 USD. That means that your donation of $2,500.00 USD can build an entire chapel. Your donation of $750.00 can place a floor and foundation for the rest of the chapel construction. Any donation you can contribute will help, even $20.00 can put in a window or a pew.
We will send you photos of the work and the communities you help so you can pray for the people and they can pray for you. For those parishes or groups who desire we can name the chapel after your patron saint.
Please prayerfully consider laying up a treasure that will never decay. Help us bring Jesus to those who have never had a church to call their own.
