Dana Epperly
In November, 2007 Dana joined her Texas parish on a medical mission to General Cepeda, Mexico. She was filled with pure joy to serve the poor and to freely share the good news of the gospel! From then on, her heart burned with a deep passion to give her life as a missionary.
In 2011, she finally surrendered her life and left her job of 15 years to answer the call as a missionary with FMC. Shortly thereafter, God called her to Kansas City where she served as Coordinator for Evangelization at St. Thomas More parish and volunteered with Desert Stream Ministries for 10 years.
In 2024 she felt God calling her to take a blind leap of faith in to unknown territory. Like Simon Peter, Jesus called her to jump out of the boat and in to the deep waters, leaving everything behind in Kansas City to follow him.
Dana wrestled with the Lord for many months and was resistant to this new call. She felt the Lord was asking too much of her, like the rich young man whom Jesus had invited to follow Him (Matthew 19:16-22). Dana has surrendered to this radical call to follow Him in the foreign mission field. The Lord led her full circle, right back to the place where she gave her life nearly 15 years ago.
Dana is overjoyed to answer the call to follow Jesus and to not walk away sad like the rich young man. She will begin to facilitate new incoming missionaries at the FMC mission base, helping to prepare and equip them to go out into the foreign mission field, while she herself prepares and receives formation to go back out next spring 2026.
Will you come with me in to the fields to feed the poor, clothe the naked and to proclaim the Good News to the ends of the earth?
“The Harvest is abundant but laborers are few.” – Matthew 9:37
