Dan grew up in a Catholic homeschool family in rural Missouri. Seeking to discover what God had in store for Dan after serving his country, he went on a mission trip to Papua New Guinea (PNG) in 2015.
While in PNG, Dan first felt a call to full-time missions. Dan shared the joy and challenge of building a church with no power tools or running water with a team of missionaries and tribesmen who were speaking 5 different languages. The people’s hunger for the Faith in the deepest parts of the jungles ignited Dan with a desire to answer the call of Christ to go and preach the Gospel to all nations.
Dan moved to Texas (2015) to finish his Business degree at UNT. Under the leadership of FOCUS campus missionaries, he grew deeper in his relationship with Jesus. Dan shared his faith on campus and the surrounding community.
In July 2018, Dan went on a discernment retreat with Family Mission Company (FMC). Discerning that God wanted him to wait, he left determined to be a missionary in his community and workplace. During the next year, he focused on growing in prayer, reaching out to coworkers, leading Bible Studies, and mentoring others.
Excited to learn more about FMC, Dan jumped at the opportunity to go on a short term mission trip to Ecuador in December 2018. Traversing through the Amazon rain forest, to share the Gospel with the Kichwa tribes, Dan admired the joy and servitude in which FMC missionaries served God’s people, and the joy of the Kichwa people in receiving the Gospel! Dan patiently awaited the day that God would call Him into full-time mission.
Dan was praying before the Blessed Sacrament one early morning in May 2019, when God revealed to him that at last He was calling him into full-time missions. Bursting with joy, Dan began seeking which organization God had in mind.
In June 2019, Dan attended his second discernment retreat with FMC. Late one night, God called him to get out of bed to go to the chapel. Dan spent many hours there praying and waiting for the reason why God asked Him to come. He began reading about the 2/3rds of the world’s population that did not yet know Jesus. Dan understood that God was confirming his calling to foreign missions. That following day, morning prayer with the FMC community was filled with the voices of children singing praises to God. During which, the Holy Spirit placed on Dan’s heart a single word: “Home.”
