Logan Detraz
Logan was born and raised in Cow Island, Louisiana. He met his wife, Macelia, at a local grocery store, and together they have 4 beautiful children.
In January of 2022, Macelia began working at Family Missions Company as Logan still pursued his career of working offshore. On his days off Logan enjoyed spending time helping in any way he could around FMC. Working offshore was something Logan loved doing and was very passionate about. It wasn’t until after attending an ACTS retreat and having a beautiful conversion that Logan realized the Lord and his family could not be pursued the way they needed to be if he was always away from his family. His heart longed to be able to lead his family in faith and attend Mass every Sunday with them.
Logan felt as if God was calling him out of his comfort zone and preparing him for something more. Logan decided to take a leap of faith, and, totally trusting in the Lord, he did just that. When he quit his job, Logan felt completely at peace, and he was confident that the Lord would guide him to where he was meant to be, not where he wanted to be. Days later, he seized the opportunity to work at Family Missions Company.
Logan is now working in maintenance at FMC. For him it goes way deeper than just being able to cut grass or change a light bulb or two. He is excited to keep the grounds of Big Woods Mission beautiful for the missionaries, the office staff, and all who come to visit. He wants to make it a true place of rest for anyone who comes through, from the chapel to the playground for the kids. He knows that by doing his job well and putting himself at the service of the Lord, he is doing his part of fulfilling the Great Commission, and he is actively trying to spread the word about FMC and Jesus’ love here in our hometown.
