MaRisa, a Texas native, was first introduced to missions at a young age by going on mission trips with her home parish during the summer. She studied Theology at the Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio and developed a love for the poor and evangelization through her studies, works of mercy, and more short-term mission trips. During the summer of 2017, she was an intern with Family Missions Company and God revealed to her what He had been preparing her for since she was a little girl: full-time foreign missions! It was very evident that God was calling her to be a missionary. She joyfully said yes to this calling and joined Intake 2018. Please keep MaRisa in your prayers as she now serves in Haiti!
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners” – Isaiah 61:1
