Danger and risks are associated with mission work. You must pray and decide whether to take these associated risks. Our missionaries are living and serving among the poorest of the poor. We live their way of life, trying to make God's Word and Love real in their circumstances. We are not immune to their troubles and dangers. This exposes us to safety and health risks that may not be a part of our normal life. In NO way can we assure you that no harm will befall you. Information on diseases in the area you intend to visit can be obtained at the Center for Disease Control website: www.cdc.gov. Information on the possible political unrest or other dangerous conditions in the area can be obtained from the US Department of State website: www.state.gov.
I am aware of the potential hazards and risks to my body and property associated with serving in a missions capacity, such hazards and risks including, but not being limited to, injury or death by accident, disease, war, terrorists acts, weather conditions, inadequate medical services and supplies, criminal activity, and random acts of violence. I further acknowledge that such risks have always been associated with missionary service. (cf. 2 Corinthians 11:23-28).
