Dana Epperly
In November, 2007 Dana joined her Texas parish on a medical mission to General Cepeda, Mexico. She was filled with pure joy to serve the poor and to freely share the good news of the gospel! From then on, her heart burned with a deep passion to give her life as a missionary.
In 2011, she finally surrendered her life and left her job of 15 years to answer the call as a missionary with FMC. She has served in the Phillipines, Barbados, Brazil, Honduras and Mexico. Shortly thereafter, God called her to Kansas City where she served as Coordinator for Evangelization at St. Thomas More parish and Desert Stream Ministries for 10 years.
In 2024 she felt God calling her to take a blind leap of faith in to unknown territory. Like Simon Peter, Jesus called her to jump out of the boat and in to the deep waters, leaving everything behind in Kansas City to follow him.
Dana wrestled with the Lord for several months and was extremely resistant to this new call on her life. She felt the Lord was asking too much of her, like the rich young man whom Jesus had invited to follow him. (Mathew 19:16-22) He wasn’t willing to let go of his possessions and HIS LIFE so he walked away from Jesus extremely sad.
After many months of wrestling with the Lord, Dana has finally surrendered to this radical call to follow him in to the foreign mission field! The Lord led her full circle, right back to the place where she gave her life as a full-time missionary nearly 15 years ago.
In John 6:68 Simon Peter says, “Lord to whom shall we go? You have the words of everlasting life.” Dana is overjoyed to answer the call to follow Jesus and to not walk away sad like the rich young ruler. She will begin to facilitate incoming new missionaries helping to prepare and equip them to go out into the foreign mission field, while she herself prepares and receives formation to go back out next spring 2026.
Will you come with me in to the fields to feed the poor, clothe the naked and to proclaim the Good News to the ends of the earth?
“The Harvest is abundant but laborers are few.” – Matthew 9:37
