Training
Beginning in May prior to the start of Intake, new missionaries will prepare for arrival by fundraising. They will also prepare through two or three phone or video calls each month before their arrival.
Each year Intake begins in September in Abbeville, Louisiana and goes for six months until the following March. There is a break for Christmas.
The goal of Intake is to prepare missionary saints to live and preach the Gospel, serve the poor and make missionary disciples in foreign lands according to our charisms and core values. Intake Training has an emphasis on intimacy with Jesus, docility to the Holy Spirit, growth in discipleship, communal life, and tools for missionary life and ministry.
Intake includes time for prayer, community, worship, talks, workshops, some meals together, small groups, and more. Intakers will put faith into action through ministry in our local community in Abbeville and through a three week trip to Mexico.
Missionaries will be commissioned and sent out to their mission post for their first term of two years after the completion of Intake training.
