Andy Ringle
Andy comes from Avery Island, Louisiana. Retrospection showed him that God had been calling him toward foreign missions for decades. His earlier life and formation as an evangelical Protestant, his conversion and reception into the Catholic Church, and his vocation as a secular Carmelite all brought him to the point where, out of retirement, he finally said “Yes!” to that call.
The overwhelming joy he experienced on a mission trip to General Cepeda, Mexico, in March 2015 led him to consider seriously the possibility of serving long-term with Family Missions Company. Participating in a “Come and See” weekend three months later was decisive. Following his formation in Intake 2015, he was posted to Peru, where he served for four years as FMC’s oldest missionary overseas, called into the vineyard, so to speak, an hour before sunset. At 75, he now serves at FMC’s headquarters in support of his fellow missionaries in the field.
This joy of mine is now full. He must increase, but I must decrease. (John 3:29-30)
