History of Our Lady of the Bayous
Our Lady of the Bayous was originally established as the Dominican Convent of Our Lady of the Bayous by French missionary sisters in 1958. For over 50 years, Our Lady of the Bayous was a Catholic respite where the Dominican sisters taught, fed, and served the poor. Family Missions Company acquired this historic property in 2009. It is fitting that this holy place remain active in the missionary activity of the church, offering year-round accommodations for retreats.
