A Transforming Heart
A missionary serving in Asia shares updates on how God is transforming hearts at their mission post. For the safety of our missionaries and those they serve, any names mentioned will be changed.
Our humble ministries continue as we visit our migrant worker friends from week to week. Those relationships continue to grow, even as some of the members of these communities come and go. We are trusting the Lord will nurture the seeds of faith He is using us to plant, and we have begun to witness His work in their hearts.
More and more as we go, we have been able to pray with these folks for their needs—and their needs are so abundant. Midway into Advent, I was able to help facilitate 12 members of one of the communities participating in a retreat hosted at one of the Catholic centers nearby. Those who came were genuinely blessed and left smiling and encouraged after a day of preaching and singing, Adoration, and Mass. A couple of weeks later, one of the men who attended the retreat—a non-Christian all of his life—came up to me after our visit and I could tell he had something burning within him that he wanted to share. Our friend, Sam, graciously translated for us:
John shared that he had a powerful experience at the retreat where he learned about Jesus’ love for the first time. He shared that since the retreat Jesus has come to him in his dreams and he now wants to serve Jesus and live for Him! Wow! It is always amazing to see how God can work even despite, and perhaps sometimes through, our limitations.
It is such a privilege to be able to be an instrument of God’s rich love, and our hearts long to do more! We shall see what 2025 brings.
