God is Sending Us Out!
October 12th
The Alvarez family are in transit today to the Philippines once again! God is so great! After many trials and set backs, Odilio, Stacie and their 7 children, including one on the way, are returning to their previous mission post in the islands of the Philippines. In their newsletter for August they write about these trials and how they were able to spend a few months serving in General Cepeda as they awaited the opportunity to return to their first mission post. They write, “Our mission to Mexico was short but very sweet! We were blessed by God’s little detour for us on our way to the Philippines.” [pullquote3 align=”right” textColor=”#035f81″]We delight in being vessels of God’s blessings for the poor to whom the Lord has sent us.[/pullquote3]
Please keep the Alvarez family in your prayers in a special way these next few weeks. Before returning to Camiguin Island, the home of their last mission post, they will be spending a few months in Malaybalay as Stacie prepares to give birth to Alvarez #7! They will be living with the Romero’s (another FMC missionary family) at their home in Malaybalay City.
. .Mark and Lora Eckstine and their ten children are planning on following the Alvarez family to the Philipinnes in the next few weeks as well. They are currently attempting to raise their funds for their airline tickets to travel half way across the globe to serve the Lord and spread the Gospel with joy during this year of Faith. Pray that they are able to acquire the funds that they need in order to travel as Lora Eckstine is praying that she will be able to make it to Malaybalay in time to be Stacie’s midwife in the birth of their coming child! Also pray that the Eckstines would be able to find suitable housing for their family as they arrive in the Philippines.
