To The Nations
On March 23, 2024, family, friends, and staff gathered together at St. Mary Magdalen’s Church in Abbeville, Louisiana, in support of our newly commissioned missionaries. The yearly Commissioning Mass is a special day – the whole FMC family celebrates and officially sends off the new missionaries who have been spending the past year discerning, fundraising, training, praying, and serving.
Though our new missionaries – two single women and one family – have spent the last six months at FMC’s home base receiving formal formation, it is now time for them to go to Costa Rica to “become all things to all people” (1 Corinthians 9:22).
At the Commissioning Mass, each missionary is called forward by Executive Directors Kevin and Sarah Granger, and the formation team – Erik Martin, Teresa Fleming, and the Alvarado-Peterongellis – place cross necklaces around each of their necks.
The crosses will serve as a reminder and a sign to their friends awaiting them in Costa Rica: God chose them, He always goes before them, and every sacrifice given up for Jesus’ sake is blessed in His sight.
Our FMC family congratulates Intake 2023! We are so proud of you and cannot wait to see how God transforms lives through you.
Please pray for Zach and Layni and their children, Luciana, and Madeleine, as they depart for their new home, Costa Rica.
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should abide” (John 15:12).
