Mga Bunyagan (Baptisms!)
September 7: Our missionaries in the Philippines were blessed to witness 36 souls welcomed into the Church through the waters of Baptism in a poor village in the Philippines this week! Lindsey Romero shares the wonderful joy they experienced as they got to see the fruit that their ministry is having:
“It was SUCH a blessed week for us here! The final number of baptisms was 36: 10 adults and 26 children ranging in age from a couple of weeks old to age 13. Some had never been baptized in any church and some were converts from other faiths. One middle aged lady even used to be a member of a well-known cult in the Philippines! Praise God!
Thursday morning the adults were baptized at the cathedral, and Thursday night we had a BIG celebration in place of our regular Bible study. We had it at the zone center in Isla Bonita, so LOTS of people came. We sang praise and worship, read and shared about Jesus’ baptism, and ate lots of delicious food! Our girls that work in our hosue and one of their husbands cooked all day. They even killed two chickens under our carport and cooked them up! Yum! Nanay Mayet and some of our other neighbors brought food, too. Our BEC on our street is so awesome. It was such a joyful night! All in all, we served over 200 plates without running out of food. God is so good!”
